MISD is fortunate to have many community partners. Even as a fast-growing district, our strong sense of community helps make Mansfield ISD one of the most sought out school districts in DFW. Each year, MISD presents an award to one community partner who goes above and beyond to impact the lives of our students, staff, and the district as a whole.
We are proud to present the 2018-19 MISD Ambassador of Education award to Lori Williams.
Lori currently serves as the president and CEO of the Mansfield Chamber of Commerce. She is an experienced manager, trainer, public speaker, author and business consultant. Her career has spanned working with local entrepreneurs and Fortune 500 companies.
“Lori is very strategic with the ability to see various possibilities, turning thoughts and ideas into action,” said Mansfield Area Chamber of Commerce Director of Engagement Kathleen D'Agostino. “She can quickly assess the unique qualities in people and how they can work more productively together.”
Lori’s ability to bring people together has been a huge benefit in identifying partnership opportunities between MISD and local businesses. Whether that comes through the Business Expo, finding volunteers to judge DECA competitions (and judging herself) and other campus events, placing student interns at local businesses, Lori is always willing to go the extra mile to ensure student success at all levels.
“Lori is the quintessential role model of what it is to be an ambassador for MISD,” said MISD superintendent Jim Vaszauskas. “She not only roots for our students and staff to succeed, she is continually asking the question, ‘How can I help you get there?’ She serves as a mentor, a volunteer, a leader and an inspiration to all who know her.”
