The Mansfield ISD Education Foundation, in conjunction with Martha Reid Leadership Academy, is hosting a Colors for Caring 5K and 1 Mile Fun on Saturday, April 27 at Mansfield High School (3001 E Broad St., Mansfield, TX 76063).
The event, which is open to the public, will honor friends and family of the MISD community battling cancer. Runners and walkers of all ages from any fitness level are welcome to participate.
Proceeds from the run will go towards the Education Foundation to support educational and social/emotional grants and a non-profit cancer charity.
The purpose of the Colors for Caring initiative, launched within Mansfield ISD in 2015, is to show support for a loved one who is battling or has battled cancer. On the first Monday of each month, MISD encourages the community to wear a color that represents a cancer that affected the life of a loved one.
