At Boren Elementary, we are excited to celebrate the accomplishments of remarkable African Americans and the lasting impact they’ve had on our country and history. Through their voices and stories, they’ve shaped our culture and enriched our lives.

Our Bears will celebrate this important time in several ways. Throughout the school, we’ll feature displays that highlight historical figures who have made a difference in our world. We’ll spotlight influential African Americans during our announcements, sharing their story and legacy.

In the classrooms, students will learn about Black History Month and take time to recognize the essential contributions of African Americans to U.S. history. During lunch, we’ll also read books that highlight the lives and achievements of African Americans.

These are just a few of the ways we’re honoring those who have fought tirelessly to make our world a better place.
